As a Design Engineer Harness, you will be responsible for the design and integration of electrical architectures and components, ensuring successful project delivery in line with quality, cost, and timing objectives. Working closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers, you will drive the development, validation, and industrialization of innovative electrical solutions for customer projects.
Responsibilities
Technology Benchmarking & Innovation
- Identify, evaluate, and benchmark emerging hardware electronic technologies and innovative solutions for new energy applications.
- Assess potential suppliers, analyze industry trends, patents, and technical developments, and contribute to collaborations with research institutions and external partners.
- Support technology roadmap planning and innovation initiatives aligned with customer and business requirements.
Product Development & System Integration
- Lead the development, integration, and validation of hardware electronic solutions, including requirements definition, functional analysis, testing, and risk management.
- Define technical specifications and validation plans while optimizing product performance, reliability, and cost throughout the development lifecycle.
- Conduct system-level integration activities and ensure successful implementation of electronic components within the overall system architecture.
Requirements Management & Product Validation
- Develop and maintain technical requirements and specifications for hardware electronic components.
- Ensure traceability between system requirements and component-level specifications throughout the development process.
- Analyze validation and testing results to ensure components meet performance, quality, and manufacturing requirements.
Innovation Deployment & New Product Introduction
- Support the introduction of new hardware electronic technologies and product solutions in line with the company's innovation roadmap.
- Promote innovation, knowledge sharing, and cross-functional collaboration to accelerate technology adoption and product industrialization.
- Foster strategic partnerships with key suppliers and external stakeholders to drive technical excellence.
Supplier Development & Technical Support
- Manage supplier technical performance and support sourcing activities, including technical evaluations, RFI/RFQ processes, and cost optimization.
- Provide technical guidance to internal teams and stakeholders regarding hardware electronic technologies, performance, and product competitiveness.
- Collaborate closely with key suppliers to ensure successful product development, validation, and launch.
Technology Transfer & Continuous Improvement
- Facilitate the transfer of technologies, methodologies, tools, and best practices from research and innovation programs into serial product development.
- Capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement across product development activities.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Battery Systems, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
- Proven experience in hardware electronics development, electronic control systems, sensors, actuators, or diagnostic technologies within the automotive or industrial sector.
- Fluent English communication skills, with the ability to participate in technical discussions in an international environment.
Technical Competencies
- Strong understanding of electronic control units (ECUs), control systems, sensors, actuators, and on-board diagnostic technologies.
- Solid knowledge of electronics design, validation, testing methodologies, and product development processes.
- Familiarity with automotive quality standards and engineering tools, including DFMEA, root cause analysis, and problem-solving methodologies.
- Knowledge of EMC, electronic manufacturing processes, and system integration principles.
- Experience with component validation, calibration, and performance optimization is an advantage.
- Understanding of materials, industrial processes, and reliability requirements for automotive electronic products.
