MISSION

In one or two sentences, outline the primary purpose(s) of this position within the organization

 

  • The Product Application Engineer is responsible in front of the customer to coordinate the design and development for assigned programs and ensures that the system performance meets technical requirements.
  • He/she is responsible for design schedule, deliverables and budget.
  • He/she is acting as a leader and coordinator within R&D group during product development for assigned programs.
  • He/she has to identify risks and spec tender modification during the development phase.

 

Responsibilities & Activities

Outline the key areas of responsibility for this position, including the related activities and eventual authorities

Server to customer, ensure POCES profitability:

  • The Product Application Engineer maintains responsibility for assigned programs from inception through the end of service life.
  • Ensure system performance meets technical requirements from POCES and customer; taking into account customer satisfaction and the profitability of POCES (limit development cost and resource optimization).
  • Intellectual property management and patent & Utility Model application.

 

As a technical major of core team, coordinate with other functions to proceed project works:

  • Coordinate with quality function to ensure customer and POCES quality requirements.
  • Direct CAD designers in the development of details and assembly math data / drawings to ensure the design meets the program requirements.
  • Direct Test Engineers/Technicians in the development of the Design and Process Validation Plans.
  • Direct the manufacture, assembly and validation of prototype parts and approved them before shipment.
  • Communicate design changes to the program team.

 

Product design & development responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the product file including 3D and 2D drawings, simulations, DFMEA, DVP&R, BOM, engineering timeline including action plans for issue resolution and product validation, etc…, all document post in PLM system.
  • Release drawings / math data to suppliers for the manufacture of tooling, prototypes, components and assembly aids associated with the program.
  • Release drawings / math data to the customer that meets the specific customer’s standards.
  • Lead design performance review (DPR) with project team during development.
  • Organize GD&T reviews with team members.

 

Continuous improvement, efficiency, cost saving:

  • Make recommendations for improvement to the program team and the customer to continuous drive towards lower cost and increased quality within the required timing.
  • Interface with other development groups (components, materials, process and systems) to ensure the provision of the technologies required to support the program and promote standardization of components and procedures.

 

Follow POCES rules and requirments:

  • Support and follow the POCES quality system.
  • Must successfully complete all POCES required training.
  • Must comply with all work rules, policies and procedures.
  • Must comply with all safety rules and regulations.

 

Safety:

  • He/she have authority to stop machines in case of immediate risk.
  • Consciously accept safety training, actively participate in safety activities and comply with safety regulations;
  • Report unsafe status and behaviors in time, and actively participate in safety improvement.
  • Must comply with all safety rules and regulations.

PROFILE REQUIREMENTS

 

Personal Background

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical).
  • Two to three years related business / automotive experience, fuel system is preferred.

 

Job Technical skills

  • Must contribute at a high level in a team environment
  • Good English verbal and written communication skills
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Basic understanding of the capabilities of common CAE systems (Unigraphics, SDRC I-DEAS, CATIA, ABAQUS, etc.).
  • Good knowledge of:
    • Injection, punching, blow molding
    • DFMEA, PFMEA Basics
    • Drawing Standard and GD&T
    • Measurements Systems Analysis
    • QFD, DOE
    • Mistake/Error Proofing( POKAYUKE)
    • ISO9001 & TS 16949 procedures
    • Microsoft Office and Project
